This Shipping Policy outlines the terms and conditions related to the delivery of your orders from Maya Blue Jewels, in compliance with South African law, specifically the Consumer Protection Act (CPA) and the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act (ECT Act).
1. Delivery Areas
Maya Blue Jewels currently delivers to addresses within the Republic of South Africa. We do not deliver to P.O. Box addresses. Please ensure you provide a valid physical address for delivery.
2. Shipping Costs
Shipping costs will be calculated and displayed at checkout. These costs may vary based on your delivery address, the size and weight of your order, and the chosen shipping method (e.g., standard or express).
3. Delivery Timeframes
- Standard Delivery: We aim to deliver standard orders within 3-7 business days from the date of dispatch, once payment has been confirmed.
- Special Orders/Custom Items: Please note that custom-made or special order items may have longer lead times, which will be communicated to you at the time of purchase or confirmation.
Important Note on Delivery Times (as per CPA and ECT Act): We are committed to delivering your order within the agreed-upon timeframe. If no specific delivery date or time has been agreed upon, we undertake to deliver the goods within a reasonable time. We will make every effort to inform you of any unavoidable delays.
4. Dispatch Confirmation & Tracking
Once your order has been processed and dispatched, you will receive a shipping confirmation email that includes a tracking number. You can use this tracking number on our courier partner's website to monitor the progress of your delivery.
5. Delivery Process
- Responsibility for Delivery: Unless otherwise expressly agreed in your order, Maya Blue Jewels remains responsible for the goods until they are delivered to you at the agreed address. This means the risk of loss or damage to the goods remains with us until you take physical possession of them.
- Receipt of Goods: Deliveries will be made to the physical address provided by you. Our courier partner may require a signature upon delivery. Please ensure someone is available at the delivery address during business hours to accept the parcel.
- Unsuccessful Deliveries: If our courier partner is unable to deliver your order (e.g., no one available at the address, incorrect address provided), they may attempt delivery again. If delivery remains unsuccessful after [e.g., 2-3] attempts, the parcel may be returned to us. In such cases, additional delivery charges may apply for re-delivery, or a refund (less shipping costs) may be processed. We will contact you to discuss options.
6. Late Delivery / Non-Delivery (Your Rights under CPA)
If we fail to deliver your goods within the agreed timeframe, or within a reasonable time if no specific timeframe was agreed, you have certain rights under the Consumer Protection Act:
- You may demand that we deliver the goods at a specified date and time.
- If we still fail to deliver or perform within that agreed time, you have the right to cancel the agreement without penalty.
- If you cancel, you are entitled to a full refund of any amount paid, plus interest (at the prescribed rate), and compensation for any costs incurred due to our failure to deliver, provided these are a direct consequence of the non-delivery.
- We will promptly communicate any unavoidable delays to you. If a delay is significant or indefinite, you have the right to cancel the order and receive a full refund.
7. Examination of Goods upon Delivery
You have a right to inspect the goods upon delivery. If the goods delivered do not correspond with the type or quality ordered, or if they are damaged or defective, you should:
- Note the discrepancy or damage on the delivery note (if possible).

8. Product Availability

While we strive to ensure accurate stock levels, if any products ordered are not available after you have placed your order, we will inform you as soon as possible and offer you the option of a full refund or an alternative product of equivalent value.
